If you were to ask any group of people which of their five senses could they not live without, chances are that most of them would say: their eyes. So, why then do we so often take our eyes and proper eye-care for granted? When it comes to trusted, professional eye care, the Osman’s Optical group is beyond comparison. We have 68 branches located throughout Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

At Osman’s we know that a clear view of your world is of paramount importance. That is why we have been a trusted name in eye-care for many years, giving you the peace of mind knowing that your sight is well taken care of.

We are trained to diagnose, manage, and treat a number of ocular health issues such as near-sightedness, far-sightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia. We also test a person’s ability to focus and coordinate their eyes and see depth and colours accurately.

We also do eye tests to determine the presence of vision problems such as glaucoma and cataracts, as well as visual acuity, prescribe spectacles, contact lenses, eye exercises, low vision aids, vision therapy, and medications to treat eye diseases.

We supply the best name brands in eye-care fashion, such as Ray-Ban, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Emporio Armani, Jimmy Choo and D&G.

Our High Tech care and diagnosis

Our latest technology includes fundus photography, also known as fundography, which is the creation of a photograph of the interior surface of the eye, including the retina, optic disc, macula, and posterior pole (or fundus).

We use fundus photography for monitoring the progression of certain diseases, diagnosis of diseases (combined with retinal angiography), or in screening programs and epidemiology. It is also particularly useful in the detection and evaluation of symptoms of retinal detachment and glaucoma.

Other technology we have at our disposal includes corneal topographers, which aid in the diagnosis and management of corneal disease. Corneal topographers enable us to map the front surface of the eye so as to best treat anomalies of the cornea, such as keratoconus and pellucid marginal degeneration.

Ultimately this means that we are able to provide our patients with the latest and best in modern technology when it comes to the health of their eyes.
